Optional Engine Idle Shutdown
The diesel engine idle shutdown option automatically shuts down the engine during prolonged idling, saving fuel and reducing wear and tear. Thirty seconds prior to shutdown, the Check Engine light will begin to flash, signaling shutdown is activated. Shutdown can be overridden by tapping the brake or gas pedal. The engine PCM automatically shuts down the engine and triggers the accessory module to shut down power to the accessories to minimize battery drain.
